A Meeting Point in Ankara for 75 Years
There are some institutions that do more than simply exist—they become part of a city’s collective memory.
The Turkish-American Association (TAD) has held exactly such a place in Ankara for 75 years.
Founded in 1951 in Ankara, the Turkish-American Association quickly evolved into a significant center where different cultures come together and contribute to the city’s cultural life.
From its very beginning, the Association went beyond being merely a language education provider and gradually transformed into a platform where art, thought, and international interaction intersect. Through its events, conferences, and cultural programs, it has brought together artists, academics, diplomats, and individuals from diverse disciplines.
Over time, the Turkish-American Association has become not only an event venue in Ankara but also a space where new ideas are shared, different perspectives meet, and cultural interaction is strengthened. By hosting numerous innovative events, the Association has made significant contributions to the development of intercultural dialogue in Türkiye.
Looking back today, the 75-year journey of the Turkish-American Association represents not only the growth story of an institution but also a rich legacy shaped by the shared experiences and encounters of different generations.
Through the initiatives carried out as part of the 75th anniversary, the aim is to bring this legacy to a wider audience and pass it on to future generations.
With its 75-year history, the Turkish-American Association continues to be a meeting point in Ankara and will keep supporting intercultural dialogue in the years ahead.
